Witnesses described a horrific scene, with blood staining the pavement and abandoned shoes left behind as the chaos ensued. One witness, Camish Hopkins, recounted the devastation, stating it was the most terrible sight he had ever witnessed.

In a series of unfortunate events, two additional fatalities were reported after a separate shooting in Heidelberg, where an 18-year-old has been arrested in connection to the deaths of a pregnant woman and another individual on the campus of a local high school, coinciding with their homecoming game.
Moreover, more shootings were reported over the weekend at two universities in Mississippi. At Alcorn State University, one victim succumbed to injuries while others sustained shootings during festivities. Meanwhile, at Jackson State University, a juvenile was seriously wounded in a shooting incident.
