HOUSTON (AP) — A powerful tornado impacted a residential area outside Houston, causing more than 100 homes to suffer damage, as confirmed by Texas authorities on Monday. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the severe weather event.

The damage primarily affected the Memorial Northwest neighborhood, as indicated by Mark Herman, the constable of Harris County Precinct 4.

The Houston Fire Department promptly deployed a team of five to assist in removing the wreckage, including uprooted trees that further complicated the recovery efforts. The National Weather Service (NWS) responded to the outbreak by issuing a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, including the Houston area, extending until 1 a.m. Tuesday, alongside a severe thunderstorm warning for various regions.
