A large fire has broken out, resulting in reports of explosions at a building in the Dutch city of Utrecht.
The incident occurred near Visscherssteeg, an alley in the city center. Reports indicate extensive damage to surrounding buildings.
At least four individuals are believed to have sustained injuries, and the city's mayor informed public broadcaster NOS that there may be more victims trapped under debris. The cause of the fire is currently unclear.
An eyewitness told RTL News they heard a 'deafening bang' and reported that 'everything in the alley was destroyed.'
Additional reports from local residents suggest that the walls and windows of several adjacent buildings were blown out, and numerous nearby shops suffered damage.
Residents have been instructed to evacuate, while the public is advised to steer clear of the area. The local fire department has expressed difficulty in entering the building due to the risk of collapse, according to Dutch broadcaster NOS.
