ATLANTA (AP) — A man who immigrated from the United Kingdom and served in the U.S. Navy has been charged in a series of deadly shootings in the Atlanta suburbs that have caught the attention of the Biden administration.
Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, stands accused of murdering two women, one of whom was an employee of the Department of Homeland Security, and critically injuring a man during a violent rampage across Decatur, Brookhaven, and Panthersville.
Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin condemned the attacks, describing them as 'acts of pure evil' and highlighted the unsettling fact that Adon Abel was granted U.S. citizenship in 2022 during Biden's presidency.
Details of the Attacks
The shootings occurred in the early hours of Monday morning, alarming the tight-knit communities around Atlanta. The first victim, Prianna Weathers, 31, was found fatally wounded near a restaurant in Decatur. Shortly after, around 2 a.m., a homeless man in Brookhaven was shot multiple times and remains in critical condition.
The third victim, Lauren Bullis, 40, a DHS employee, was discovered with stab wounds and shot at while walking her dog in Panthersville, suffering injuries that proved fatal.
Investigations revealed that the attacks were connected and suggested at least one victim was randomly targeted.

Adon Abel, whose military record indicates he served in the Navy since 2020, is facing numerous charges, including malice murder and aggravated assault. His earlier legal troubles include assaulting police officers and a recent sexual battery conviction in Georgia. It is unclear if these incidents impacted his citizenship status.
