Berlin Pride ramming attack: what we know so far
At about 22:00 local time (20:00 GMT) a white vehicle slammed into crowds at the annual Christopher Street Day parade in Berlin’s Tiergarten park, near the iconic Brandenburg Gate. The crash left one woman dead, 16 people injured and a number of stabbing incidents reported.

Police received a report of the vehicle’s impact and subsequently declared the event cancelled. A large crowd of festival-goers was forced to evacuate when a banner declared “Evacuation” appeared on a screen. By 01:00 local time the police confirmed the casualties—one fatality and sixteen injuries.
Suspect identified
The culprit has been named by authorities as a 21‑year‑old man, referred to only as Abdul B. to comply with German legal restrictions. Police say he has ties to Islamist circles and is believed to have driven the vehicle that later crashed into a tree. No arrest has been made, but the suspect is considered armed and dangerous. The police are searching the entire city, with officers from neighboring German states joining the effort.
Public plea and safety notice
Police urge the public to come forward with leads but strictly advise against any direct contact with Abdul B. The suspect was reported wearing a black hooded top and white trousers, and may have left the vehicle with accomplices who could also be involved.

The incident’s hard hit was on Ahornsteig, a wooded path through Tiergarten. The park’s proximity to the Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column added to the event’s historical significance, making the attack all the more shocking.
