A 97‑year‑old Nepali woman was rescued from the wreckage of a flood‑ridden care home, and doctors say she is recovering in hospital.
Guna Maya Bohara’s great‑nephew, Dipak Bohara, told BBC Nepali she looked like "a warrior" who had returned victorious from battle.
The rescue took about four hours to pull her out of the rubble, and nearby civilians had to wheel her on a stretcher back to Kathmandu for medical care.
Hundreds have lost their lives in the latest flash floods, scientists believe being triggered by a glacier collapse in the Himalayan border region with Tibet.
