In Kyiv, the announcement has sparked discussions among lawmakers and analysts, revealing a blend of relief and skepticism. Many remain wary, recalling Trump's past insistence on reassessing American military spending in Ukraine. Just last week, Trump's administration halted some approved arms shipments, citing a need to evaluate U.S. weapon stockpiles. Nevertheless, recent developments, including intensified Russian bombardments on Ukrainian urban centers, pushed Trump to pivot his stance. “We’re going to send more weapons,” Trump stated, revealing his dissatisfaction with Russian President Vladimir Putin and highlighting the necessity for Ukrainian self-defense.
