Florida Man Swallows Stolen Tiffany Earrings in Attempt to Evade Arrest**

In a bizarre turn of events, a 32-year-old man named Jaythan Gilder was arrested in Orlando, Florida, after allegedly swallowing over half a million dollars' worth of stolen Tiffany & Co. earrings just moments before police apprehended him. According to reports from the Orlando Police, Gilder had initially deceived employees at the luxury jewelry store by claiming to represent a professional athlete, which resulted in staff showing him high-value items.

After allegedly snatching the earrings, Gilder made a hasty exit from the store. Police caught up to him later in the day, witnessing him swallowing several items believed to be the stolen earrings. The total value of the earrings he attempted to steal is reported to be around $769,500 (£597,000), alongside a diamond ring that he supposedly dropped during his escape.

Authorities provided an x-ray that reportedly shows a foreign object in an individual's abdomen, though they did not confirm whether the jewelry had been successfully retrieved. Gilder has a troubling criminal history, including a previous robbery at a Tiffany & Co. store in Texas in 2022. Furthermore, police revealed that he has 48 outstanding warrants for his arrest in Colorado. He currently faces charges of robbery with a mask and grand theft in the first degree, as these stolen items exceed a value of $100,000. Gilder is considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
