Mississippi Man Arrested for Stalking Jennifer Aniston
Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, is charged with stalking and vandalism after allegedly harassing actress Jennifer Aniston for two years and crashing his vehicle into her property.
A Mississippi resident has been charged with stalking actress Jennifer Aniston, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Jimmy Wayne Carwyle, 48, from New Albany, is facing serious allegations, including vandalism after he reportedly drove his car through the front gate of Aniston’s Bel Air residence.
Carwyle's legal troubles stem from a two-year period of claimed harassment, which includes a series of unwelcome social media messages, voicemails, and emails directed at the star beginning in March 2023. Prosecutors announced that the defendant could potentially face up to three years behind bars.
“Stalking poses an immediate threat, potentially escalating from persistent harassment to more violent acts that compromise the safety of victims,” warned District Attorney Nathan J. Hochman in a statement.
The incident escalated when Carwyle allegedly crashed his vehicle through Aniston’s front gate, causing significant damage before stopping in her driveway where a security guard detained him until police responded.
Aniston’s home, which was featured in a recent Architectural Digest article for its modern aesthetics, has been a personal space for the actress, who famously hosted her wedding to actor Justin Theroux there in 2015.
The motives behind Carwyle’s obsession seemingly shifted after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a long-time friend who shared insights on social media, mentioning Carwyle’s erratic behavior and peculiar claims of divine messages urging him to marry Aniston.
While there has been no direct comment from Aniston regarding the incident, the news has raised concerns around celebrity safety and the implications of harassment tactics in today's digital age.
