Just weeks after experiencing a tragic loss, Cardoso posted on Instagram three photos from their wedding day, which took place on June 22, under the caption, "one month of our 'until death do us part,'" expressing her everlasting love for him with the word "forever".

Diogo Jota, just 28 years old, lost his life on July 3 in a devastating car accident in Cernadilla, Spain, when the Lamborghini he was riding in suffered a tyre blow-out, leading to a crash and subsequent fire.

Jota’s impact at Liverpool was notable; he joined the club from Wolves in 2020, netting 65 goals in 182 appearances. During his time at Liverpool, he contributed to the team’s successes, helping them secure the FA Cup and League Cup in 2022, as well as the Premier League title in the previous season. In a fitting tribute to his legacy, Liverpool announced the retirement of his number 20 shirt last week.
