Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, has expressed profound sorrow after the death of her beloved rescue dog, Guy. In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, she shared her grief, stating she has "cried too many tears to count" since his passing and thanked him for the "so many years of unconditional love" he provided.
Meghan adopted Guy, a beagle, from an animal shelter in Canada in 2015, and he became a constant companion over the years. While the duchess did not disclose the details of his passing or when it occurred, she shared a montage of photos and videos in her post that showcased the joyful moments spent with Guy. In one touching moment, she is shown preparing fruit for jam, cheerfully telling Guy, "We're jamming."
The montage also includes a clip of her husband, Prince Harry, enjoying a playful moment with Guy on the beach, with Meghan later heard singing affectionately to him alongside their child. She recounted how staff at the shelter nicknamed him "the little guy" due to his small size, leading her to name him "Guy."
"He was with me at Suits, when I got engaged, (and then married), and when I became a mom," she reflected, highlighting Guy’s unwavering presence during both joyful and tumultuous periods of her life.
Meghan also revealed that Guy will be featured in her upcoming Netflix series, "With Love, Meghan," a reflection of their bond that she hopes viewers will come to appreciate. She poignantly expressed her vulnerability, stating that the waves of grief were overwhelming, and that it’s okay to feel such deep sorrow for a beloved pet. "Thank you for so many years of unconditional love, my sweet Guy. You filled my life in ways you'll never know," she concluded.
