UK Imposes Sanctions on Israeli Ministers Over Gaza Statements

The UK has taken significant diplomatic action against Israeli officials Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, both prominent figures in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's coalition, by barring them from entering the UK and freezing their assets. Foreign Secretary David Lammy accused them of inciting extremist violence and violating Palestinian human rights.

In a statement, Lammy expressed the need for accountability, emphasizing the importance of an immediate ceasefire and the release of hostages held by Hamas, which he stated must not play a role in Gaza's governance.
